I was admitted addressing an infection on my prosthesis in my left arm. After my procedure to remove the infected hardware securing my prosthesis, I was greeted by Shonta on my arrival on 5 N with a smile. She immediately put me at ease with her engaging personality and willingness to address my concerns. I always looked forward to her arrival after hitting the call button. Truth be known, I was sorry that Shonta worked only 3 shifts a week, I wanted to see her every day. Just based on my experience with her as my care nurse, I would have nominated her for this award as the assistance she provided over the past days has gone above and beyond the call of duty.

Knowing I was stressed out about my delayed-release, Shonta took a very active role in solving my insurance problem delaying my release. Once she found out the issue with my release, she started to work with my case manager to solve my complicated problems and keeping me at ease. Even better, on more than one occasion Shonta took the time to explain the very confusing issues with my release. She made the sense I needed to understand my problems. Then she gave my wife and me a welcomed lesson in wound care so we would be prepared once we get home. Given my heightened anxiety, Shonta was the tonic that settled me down. Her conscientious and caring personality is a real credit to Bayfront. You are fortunate to her working for Bayfront. She has been my personal lifesaver.
