September 2017 Honoree
shoshana nisbet, RN
I brought my father to LCMC for many reasons; he needed acute care, I trust this facility, I'm aware of the value and commitment our nursing staff puts into the care and safety of our patients, and I knew my father would receive excellent clinical care. I was not disappointed. What I was not expecting was this one little nurse or the way she interacted with my father. As I sat and watched her caring for him, whether she was medicating him, cleaning him, or simply providing comfort; rubbing his arms (he had restraints) or cooling his forehead or stroking his hair I felt like she could have been me, or one of my daughters, there was so much compassion in her voice and mannerisms. I still can't bring myself to tell her in person how special I think she is and how grateful I am. My father passed away 3 weeks after discharge, he never came back home. But when I think about the time he spent here at LCMC and specifically the care he received from Sho. I can think of no better way of letting her know. Thank you Sho, you are an extraordinary nurse.
Thank you, Shoshana, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
