Compassion: Shufen took the time (without hesitation) to make sure that the patient knew that she fully understood her medical issues and how they affected her. Respect: Shufen made sure that the patient was fully involved with her medical decisions and fully complied with her wishes. Integrity: When Shufen said she would do something for her, she did it. Spiritual: Shufen presented full respect for her coworkers and physicians. Excellence: Shufen never entered the patient's room without being the most professional, capable, and happiest nurse we have ever encountered. Her bright personality alone seemed to help the patient get better.

My nurse, Shufen, provided excellent care the day following my hip surgery at Penrose-St. Francis. I appreciated her thoughtful approach to helping with extreme fatigue and low blood pressure. She also knew the best way to manage pain. She was uplifting in spirit, and I truly appreciated her.
