Sierra is a nurse that goes above and beyond for her patients. She is more than a nurse and instead treated me like a friend. What we went through was one of the worst days of our lives. Surgery of course is a field where your patients are very anxious and stressed. However, I was there for a D&C: a procedure that has a lot of emotional pain associated with it. My husband and I were in one of the most vulnerable situations of our lives and at that moment, Sierra was a shining light. Gave us hugs and assured us our hearts would eventually heal. I cannot begin to explain how much this meant to us. She gave us hope that we would heal and be able to recover from this. She sat with us and cried, held my hand, and gave us hugs. This is exactly what we needed on such a horrible day.

With this being said, I am also an Advocate Aurora employee for many years, and I know what exceptional patient care is as I also strive to deliver that to my own patients. I will always think about Sierra and the care she provided me when I was in need. You never wish to be on the patient's end of the medical field, but I am so thankful she was there to support and care for me in my time of need. I will continue to think about what she did for me that day. Her kindness will never be forgotten. I sincerely hope that she knows what a great nurse and friend she is to her patients.
