Sierra Cassidy, RN

Sierra Cassidy provided excellent technical skills in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit for my wife over multiple days in a complex case of head trauma and broken bones. She always explained to my grandson and me what she was doing, changes in drugs or treatment, and why the doctor had ordered that treatment. That was reassuring since my wife remained unconscious during her 12-day stay in the SICU. Sierra exhibited great compassion when providing care and in all her dealings with family members. We always felt my wife was getting the best care when Sierra was on duty. She volunteered to be there on the last day when we knew a critical decision on the termination of care would have to be made. She consoled the family as we gathered for her final breaths. Sierra also prepared her body after death. We were honored when she also attended the funeral mass and burial.
