I spent Christmas Eve in the ER with symptoms of appendicitis and waited most of Christmas Day for surgery to remove a ruptured appendix. Sierra was my nurse and was instrumental in helping with the pain and recovery. During my stay of 6 days, I reached a breaking point. I was impatient for any relief or sustained improvement. Sierra showed incredible leadership and guided me through the process. She took the time and effort to change the location of my IV. This simple change alleviated the alarms, aggravation, and a consistent source of pain. Sierra helped my family and was a consistent source of conscientious effort. She even impressed my mother - who has been a successful RN with St. Luke's for over 20 years. Sierra is exceptional and I hope you recognize her impressive abilities. She was a central part of my recovery.
