My daughter's surgery went well and I have watched her go from excruciating pain, being slightly immobile, tears, trapped gas, needing my assistance to walk, use the restroom, wiping her bottom, getting out of bed, and the emotional and psychological realms of this whole process, supporting her in every way-assisting her in every way. (Not at all complaining. It's my honor, joy, and mommy duty and I am more than blessed to be all I am able to be for her.) My point is, the post-op, in hospital care, for my daughter is filled with so many obligations from a caregiver-not my assistance as a family member, but the responsibility placed on the staff here at Medical City. Out of the extended period, my daughter, the patient, experienced firsthand the value and blessing of having an amazing nurse. The attention should go to our DAISY, Sierra! Nurses such as Sierra should not go unrecognized. I've witnessed the above and beyond, going the extra mile, working from and with true heart, true soul, unfailing provision of meeting the patient's needs, and some. Sierra is a very valuable asset to your team. You can't put a price or dollar amount on a nurse who wears her heart with wings. I have had seven surgeries, and I am telling you the aftercare provided by nurses speaks for your hospital stay. This amazing nurse, Sierra, literally took the feeling of helplessness of the soul of this mommy. Her exceptional skills, personality, true passion for the patients she cares for. It actually gave me such peace. I was actually able to run home, shower, and even grab a bite to eat. Due to unexpected circumstances, my daughter's stay in the hospital was extended, Sierra handled my daughter as I do. Her care is premier, tender, honest, and caring, and she is attentive to every detail. She is excellent. It was a blessing to have her multiple days. Her compassion is priceless. She is a worker and cares! You all have a superstar in her providing care. When Sierra is my daughter's nurse, the South Tower, 5th floor, and our room is filled with heart, soul, wings, and gardens full of DAISIES! Please understand that my words aren't enough to express the appreciation for her passion of caring/nursing. Time after time, Sierra provided exceptional care. Thank you!
