February 2025 Honoree
Sierra Johnson, RN
As I was waiting for my ride after being discharged with a left-sided aneurysm and mild TIA, the discharge nurse acknowledged that I was in time for my ride; as we were talking, I happened to feel my left leg and told her that it was numb. She asked if I would like to get it checked out again, and I said yes. She put me in a wheelchair and brought me to the Emergency department triage. After Triage, I was sent for a CT scan and found that I had a 2nd aneurysm with a bleed. While in the ED, the nurse, Sierra, was gentle and stayed with me while my blood pressure was getting higher. She explained everything to me and was very gentle and nice. Sierra stayed with me until I was transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock. I was in the ED for about 6 hours.
Thank you, Sierra, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
