Our daughter R was diagnosed with a brain tumor and we spent one day short of a month in the PICU at McLane Children's and had exceptional care. The staff on this floor became like a family to us during our emotional journey with y'all. Sierra Perrella, however, took such good care of us and we wanted to take the time to acknowledge her service. She worked diligently to provide the best care for R after two intense tumor resection surgeries, constantly monitoring clinical and physical changes as R recovered. After spending a few days with us, she gave up two days off to provide continuous care for R, working six days in a row. She not only cared for R but looked after the emotional and physical needs of our entire family in ways few other nurses did or have done since. Even after transferring out of the PICU onto the Med-Surg floor, Sierra came to check on us and provide extra care for our family. We are thankful for her exceptional and holistic care for our family.
