Sierra Stettin, RN

I arrived in the ICU and spent a total of 60 days with the ICU team. I got to know many of the nurses, and every one of them treated me with care, compassion, and support. I had a perfect overall experience. I would like to nominate Sierra for the DAISY Award because of her outstanding care and medical intelligence. She takes her job very seriously and provided constant ideas, solutions, and recommendations to the care team. This was particularly important as they worked to reduce the paralytics, sedation, and other medicine to allow me to begin to prove I could survive. She anticipated needs and reactions to changing dynamics, and her communication skills were truly world-class. She took the time to carefully and fully update my family to allow them to understand my situation, which was dire, to say the least. Sierra has a very bright future wherever her career may take her! Perhaps I can best sum up my thoughts regarding Sierra by stating that every single time Sierra was in my room, she demonstrated through her words, actions, decisions, and behavior what excellence looks like.
