I was seriously depressed, and my anxiety was through the roof! As Silas was doing my intake not only was he thorough but also very caring. At one point, he assured me that it was all right to cry. He sensed my anxiety/depression because he intentionally slowed me down and reassured me that everything was going to be all right.

After the paperwork was finished, he prepared some food for me and when he sat the food on the table he asked if he could pray for me!! I felt his prayer deep in my heart as he asked God to lead and guide me through my time here. Because of Silas’ prayer, I felt safe and knew that I was in the right place for treatment.

We were not given an Admission nurse as there were initially only two patients on the board. We look at the board and now there are eight admissions. Without even being called, Silas swoops in and starts whipping out admission after admission. At the end of the shift, we all look at each other and say wow we could not have done it without Silas.

Silas has the most positive attitude ever. He has some weird kind of sixth sense where he shows up at exactly the time he is needed and always with a smile. Every one of us has a story where the unit was imploding and magically Silas comes to the rescue. He truly feels like a knight and shining armor on nights, like tonight. Well done, Silas.
