Silpa was changing my IV catheter before starting a platelet transfusion because I was leaking at my skin.
I started bleeding when she pulled the needle out. She got me wrapped up but time was running out to start the platelets. She tried a vein on my left hand but it didn’t work. She pulled out the vein locator light and found a good vein.
I was hooked up and platelet transfusion started at 10:52 am. She had until 10:55 to get it started. She’s my guardian angel. She stayed calm the entire time.
