Silvy is a superb nurse and manages to put the most uncomfortable and nervous patient at ease.
Silvy’s experience and expertise are immediately recognizable. She is a superb nurse and manages to put the most uncomfortable and nervous patient at ease. When my husband went for a walk down the corridor, Silvy knew he was concerned about his oxygen saturation and borrowed a portable pulse oximeter from one of the residents during the walk so we didn’t have to wait to check his level when we returned. It made the walk much less worrisome. Silvy has obviously been paying strict attention to my husband’s medical situation. As she was checking on him, we mentioned that two of the three doctors involved in his care suggested he might be leaving the next day. However, Silvy noticed that the resident had ordered tests for that day. Obviously, if he had been leaving, no tests would have been ordered. Silvy is extremely centered on the complete picture and certainly reassured us with her total interest in his welfare. Even at discharge, (as she was also occupied with two emergency situations with other patients) Silvy heard me speaking to my pharmacy and interrupted me to clarify the medications needed. She takes the initiative when necessary and truly goes the extra mile.
