July 2024 Honoree
Sima Hayun, RN
Sima chose a professional and unique intervention that was carefully and exceptionally tailored to the holocaust survival patient.
Sima heard from the patient about his desire to return home quickly to care for his wife. Understanding that he intended to travel home using public transportation, it was immediately clear to her that she would help him get there.
After receiving approval from her managers, Sima drove the patient to his home. The patient was deeply moved by the gesture and the nurse's sensitivity towards him.
