She has quietly and selflessly contributed so much to the entire WKBH organization in her own way. Prior to the COVID pandemic until now, she continues to surprise us with her compassionate service and dedication to our organization.
This nurse leader possesses a lot of great qualifications that make her a true DAISY Nurse Leader. She has quietly and selflessly contributed so much to the entire WKBH organization in her own way. Prior to the COVID pandemic until now, she continues to surprise us with her compassionate service and dedication to our organization. She spends indefinite time here in the hospital and has the time flexibility for whatever service she needs to provide everyone. I remember seeing her come in in various shifts during the COVID pandemic, even at night, just to be of help and of support to the team. She was a runner, a task nurse, and did whatever she could to support anyone in need of help. She provided the ICU team with shoe covers and disposable caps which she personally ordered online in the beginning of the pandemic. This was one of the ways she supported us.
On countless occasions, Simone cooked for us and filled the ICU cookie jars in the staff lounge just so the staff had something to eat on those times we had no time to take breaks. She brings in desserts at any given time. She humbly pushed those heavy huge blue bins that hold the isolation gowns from our EVS department to the different floors to help restock the COVID floors. She has assisted me multiple times in various departments where we intubated COVID patients during code blue because she knew that the ICU code responder did not have much support in those areas until an ICU bed became available.
Her leadership and commitment extend even to outside activities like the Nursing Consortium. I have known her to be the one who opened the grand ballroom at the Signature Grand as early as 5 am to put up all posters belonging to WKBH representatives for the past two Nursing Consortium of South Florida, Inc. She was the same person to take them down and brought the posters back to WKBH.
She is also the epitome of encouragement to any RN for advancement. She never fails to support every advancement applicant and spends time with them to discuss their CCAP points and areas where the nurses can work to get enough points. She honestly provides them feedback on the nurses’ opportunities if they do not meet the criteria for advancement.

Professionalism, Commitment, and Personal/Professional Growth – Simone is very respectful, pleasant to work with, and has the professional competencies for her role. She continues to empower and improve herself professionally through educational achievement. She has the MSN and MSHSA in her file with CMSRN certification. She has done the following that relates to this criteria:

Coordinates the development of the process for successful (ANCC) application, including required documents for designation and re-designation.
