Having stayed with her grandmother, a patient on 3-West, during her entire hospital stay, she had a bird's-eye view of Simranjit Kaur's outstanding care. The patient, who was particularly frightful after the mini stroke that led to her hospital stay, found Simranjit (or "Simi", as she called her) to be just the comfort she needed.
One day, with the patient scared to death to have an MRI, Simi did her best to calm the patient down. If it hadn't been for Simi, the MRI just would not have been done. After returning from the MRI, the patient proudly told her granddaughter, "Simi will be so proud of me!" And that's exactly how Simi responded.
