Sindhu, RN in outpatient Radiology and has worked at Parkland for over 14 years. She stayed with the OPC Radiology when new Parkland opened. I took over the outpatient nursing aspect of Radiology in August 2015. At that time, I was left with 1 RN for CT and 1 RN for MRI. CT was previously staffed with 2-3 RN's plus RN's rotated in/out from the other Radiology areas to help during busy times. Sindhu was a real trooper during this time and helped to orient multiple staff from other OPC's so that we could have them work the area. At the same time, CT was struggling with changing from a 24-hour operation to an 8-hour clinic setting. Days ran long and the area is very busy. I appreciate Sindhu's patience and honesty with working in this new environment, with a new manager and constantly training nurses and MA's to help assist in the area. She is very skilled at starting very difficult IV's in sick patients and they are appreciative of her expertise. She is quick to respond to any reaction symptoms and medical type emergencies. She helps maintain supplies and ensures we have enough, but not too many, supplies. Sindhu is deserving of the DAISY Award because she is a rock and very knowledgeable of her area. Sindhu's input has been invaluable in developing the new OPC flow and it has definitely stabilized over the last several months.
