I had laryngotracheal reconstruction surgery and there was no relative or companion with me for a special circumstance, but I did not feel I needed it because of the presence of my nurse. I got my health care completely from my amazing nurse, Sinumol. She was with me postoperatively when I was drowsy because of general anesthesia. She provided me with all I needed, helped me, walked with me to the toilet door, fed me, and gave me my necessary meds. I felt she was one of my family members.
