She ensures her patients receive the best care and that families receive thorough discharge teaching. I cannot express how many have approached me to express how happy they are with Siobhan taking care of their loved one.
Siobhan has been working in the NICU for over 28 years. A lot of great nurses have passed through the NICU over the years, but only a few have the impact on families that Siobhan has. Siobhan is passionate and caring. She always goes above and beyond with not only her patients but with the families as well. She ensures her patients receive the best care and that families receive thorough discharge teaching. I cannot express how many have approached me to express how happy they are with Siobhan taking care of their loved one. Even the most difficult parents have requested her. Not only is Siobhan great with patients, but a great team player. She helps teach the Neonatal Resuscitation class, and NICU skills and drills. Whenever there is an educational project in the unit, I can always count on her helping out. Currently, she is part of NICU's Unit Based Council and also serves as March of Dimes Coordinator. As a March of Dimes Coordinator, she works closely with the families to ensure they are oriented and educated to the disease process of their babies. Siobhan is a great asset to our team. With all her years of experience, we have all learned something from Siobhan. She has continuously passed on her knowledge by precepting students as well as new employees. It is an honor to have Siobhan.
