Siriswas "Fone" Lertsburapa deserves this award for her incredible patience yet discerning attitude when caring for patients. This in addition to the way she has an eye out to assist nurses in their care of patients. When most would be beyond frustrated, Fone is able to remain sincerely compassionate yet timely regarding care to patients.
She is the person I go to for assistance when I feel anyone else would be too busy or stressed (speaking to her patience and knowledgeability). She once bought a patient of mine chewing gum after he repeated his desire for it. She responds to patients' complaints with empathy and follows through regarding regulatory practices and how to better mandate a system. Fone frequently stays late to help staff, when her schedule is not paid hourly, which says a lot of her selflessness and patience. On nights, she was the one who took the least coveted role (the most frequently) of answering call lights, as well as assisting in admissions. She sees where help is needed before it is, and fills it.
She leads in many ways on 6W and has and will always be a key and team player - while maintaining her ever-present calm, friendly, and caring demeanor. She's the right mix of knowledgeable and calm, which is an amazing combination to be found in a nurse, employee, coworker and friend.
