Skylar Burk, RN

Skylar was nominated by a patient who had been admitted to the facility for a long length of stay for intensive antibiotic therapy. The patient stated in her nomination that she was upset and depressed and considering leaving against medical advice because of having to be confined to the hospital for so long. The patient said Skylar came in to talk with her and was very encouraging. The patient said Skylar got with her supervisor and came up with a plan to help. Skylar went to the store after her shift, and with her own money, purchased some activity books and colored pencils to help the patient pass the time. The patient stated – “It absolutely made my entire week!”
