My husband was transported over for a splenectomy. We were put in the only room open in the burn unit. My husband does not have any platelets and suffers from ITP. My husband's blood pressure began to bottom out (59/37) and he began to pass out. Skylar, the nurse, kept her calm and called the nurse back up. She also knew when to call in the rapid response team for more help. Because she was so attentive and aware, my husband received the best care needed. He was moved to the ICU until surgery. We appreciate her professionalism when things were crazy and her kindness during the episode. This young lady is a Rock Star! Glad she was there with us.
