Sladjana DeDonno, RN

I'm 69 years old and was diagnosed with uterine cancer and within 3 weeks had a complete radical hysterectomy. Four days after my release in New York, I wound up in the Riverview ER because I couldn't keep any food down. I was admitted immediately. When I was given a room Sladjana came in and immediately saw how frightened I was. She calmed me down and made me feel comfortable. All through the first night she kept a close eye on me. I had to have a tube put up my nose and into my stomach to drain the bile. The next night I had to have a Cat Scan and was told to drink 2 large bottles of contrast liquid. Sladjana took her time and hand-pumped the liquid into my nose tube because she knew that I would not be able to swallow. Sladjana kept them from putting a catheter in me by coming around and getting me up to go to the bathroom. To say she was extraordinary would be putting it mildly. She was my guardian angel! Her soft voice would calm me down the second I heard it. Her nursing skills were top-notch. She explained every minute detail to me and my family. Sladjana is the epitome of a true nurse! My family and I consider her a true friend and healer. God bless her!
