Honestly, I do not know where to start with Sladjana. She is the most caring nurse. When my parents left visitation early, Sladjana noticed right away and came in even though my door was shut. I was in my bed crying and wanting to self-harm after the argument between my parents and me. She sat there with me for a long time and told me “I would rather see you in here than in the paper,” and I will never forget that.

Even if I am so close and want to end it, those words saved me from self-harming and continue to keep me alive in the future. She told me that no matter what in life, to do what made me happy as long as it was safe. Because it is my life. I cannot put how much that meant to me. She let me cry and stayed there with me for the longest time, sharing about her life. That made me feel a connection. She always makes everyone laugh during mealtime and even went along with our jokes about the spoons here. I cannot say enough about Sladjana; please, please, please realize how much of a difference she makes here. She saved my life!

Thank you, Sladjana E, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
