How can I begin to put into words the incredible collaboration and teamwork seen and felt by our OA team over the last two years? These individuals have carried the weight of the world on their shoulders and still made themselves available to care for and support our front-line team members. Most people don't have a clue what the OA team does. Honestly, I didn't either until I had the pleasure of working side-by-side with them. Incredible doesn't even scratch the surface. This team manages the staffing conundrum and figures out who can fill in where and when the teams are stretched, they field calls from the transfer center about receiving patients, and they work with Thao to ensure our patients are getting bedded timely (when a bed was available), they respond to rapids and run codes, they manage angry family members on the phone and escalation concerns, they collaborate with our physicians' partners on a multitude of needs, they support family members who are dealing with the tragic loss of loved ones and coordinate funeral home transport for those we have lost. Their phone is so utilized that the buttons are nearly gone. They give FAR more than they could ever receive in return. They are a team of unsung heroes in our organization and without their guidance and support, our team would not be the same. We wouldn't be able to accomplish everything we do each day to care for our community and keep this hospital running without their collaboration in managing the daily operations of this organization. We are so blessed to have each one of them. To Juan Cruz, Heather Cruz, Stacy Nigliazzo, Marlee Trahan, Charlotte LeBlanc, Cristina Bedoya, Harold Engle, Mitch Blien, Amy Padula, and Rachel Krajnovich you will be heroes to me!
