I would like to recognize Sommer Sargent for her extraordinary commitment to managing our department and upholding clinical care in a compassionate manner. She clearly demonstrated this during our last incident in the Birth Center with the uncertainty of the structural stability. She got right to work making sure our patients were out of harm's way and that her nurses had what they needed to function in an unfamiliar unit. During this process, she made certain the patients were aware of the situation and treated them with the utmost respect. To accomplish this, she worked many long hours to ensure everyone's well-being. During the event, she remained calm and compassionate towards all involved. She also never complained; just got in and did what needed to be done. Thank you, Sommer, for your dedication, compassion, and extraordinary work as an RN and manager.
