Sonia always says nice words. She tells us we're strong and getting better every day. She gives us hope and makes us think we can beat our sickness.
Sonia joined King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) in 2014 and currently works in the pediatric outpatient units/pediatric chemotherapy. She consistently demonstrates courtesy, empathy, and professionalism, and providing exceptional nursing care to her patients and their families, which is evident in her daily work. Sonia is attentive and cooperative nurse, uniquely attending to the patient’s emotional and physical needs.

In fact, Sonia was nominated for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for the compassionate care she provides to one of her pediatric patients. The patient wrote on the DAISY Award nomination form, "There was a special nurse named “Sonia” in the pediatric chemotherapy unit. Everyone knew her for being so kind and gentle. Whenever I went to get my medications, she welcomed us with sweet words and the biggest smile. Sonia always cheered us up with her funny jokes, even on the days we felt down. Before I met her, I was really scared of needles. But Sonia has a magic touch when it comes to inserting needles, she inserts it in an amazing way that doesn't hurt at all. She talks to me softly, tells stories, and before I know it, the needle is in! It never hurts because she is so gentle and knows exactly what to do.

Sonia always says nice words. She tells us we're strong and getting better every day. She gives us hope and makes us think we can beat our sickness. I’m not the only one who loves Sonia. I’ve seen many kids like me hugging her and telling her how much they love her. We all feel so happy when she is around. Thank you, Sonia. We love you very much!"
