Sonia Sanchez took special care, time and attention to the needs of a patient who was rescheduled for a surgical procedure three times. Yesterday, Sonia took care of Mrs. X, after speaking to her about having to reschedule the surgical procedure for the third time, and successfully assisted in contacting family to arrange transportation, rescheduled surgery by speaking directly to the surgical coordinator and surgeons office staff, and carefully and patiently waited with the patient until her transportation back home arrived. Sonia spent approximately two hours attending to the needs and care of this patient without any sign of fatigue. Sonia's selfless act of compassion and kindness to patient's needs should be an example to us all. I made a comment to the charge nurse in saying, "If I were a patient I would like Sonia Sanchez to care for me and my family needs"
