Just recently my son was diagnosed with RSV and we were transported to Dayton Children's making the distance from home over an hour and a half away. I was so scared with 2 other kids at home and my youngest in the hospital, I wasn't sure what to do. The first night we were here was very rocky and I wasn't sure that I had sent my child to the right place.
Then came day 2. I was expecting sort of the same thing, then we met Sonja. She was like an angel that God knew my sweet 2 year old needed at his time of sickness. Sonja was so kind, sweet, and caring, my boy just absolutely loved her. Every time she came in the room he would let her do whatever holding his hand out for her to check his 02, raised his leg for his band scanning, and anything that needed to be done. He also had to be deep suctioned out a few times. Every single time with the suctioning Sonja talked sweetly to my boy who would scream and he would slowly calm down to the soft soothing sound of her voice. Sonja was always so welcoming and very supportive in helping not only my son but me as well. This woman meant so much to us even though I'm not sure Sonja knew for sure she made our visit at Children's a lot more welcoming. Your organization is so lucky to have such an amazing nurse on your team!
