Sue goes above and beyond with all of her patients every day! Today, she took the time to discuss in detail CHF education to a patient with slight memory impairment. She also helped me (her nurse resident) with all of my questions as she does every day. Never a complaint, always a smile and always putting her patients first.

She is stroke certified as well as a professional on our cardiac floor. I have witnessed Sue in many different situations when she has maintained a professional demeanor, remaining calm, composed and saving lives. Patients are blessed by her care. When I recently asked Sue if she could tell me how many new nurse orientations she has accommodated she couldn't tell me and when I asked her to guess, she was very humble and responded "at least fifty". When nursing students are partnered with Sue they are getting top notch guidance. Last week a new orientee had to call a code assist. She came from a patient room in tears. Sue was able to take control and calm the situation. She is a kind, patient, and compassionate nurse. We wouldn't have some of the good nurses here at HCH if it wasn't for her. Sue would help anyone in need with no worries. Just today, she came in to do skills fair and when she finished, she took another nurse's patients so that she could go to skills fair. What a great lady!

I have been working with Sue for 8 years. She's been like a mother to me and has taught me so much as a PCT. She is one of our best nurses and I hope she will be chosen for this year's DAISY Award recipient.

Sue trains new nurses, is always willing to answer questions and deals with this very busy floor. She has worked on 2 South for 28 years and this should be recognized.
***
Sue is the nicest nurse on the floor here at 2 South. She has trained so many nurses and students. We have a very demanding floor with a very high turnover of patients. She never loses her patience; she is always kind and calm. She is compassionate and a true professional. She is very well liked and gets along with everyone.

Sue has guided me thorough my first year of nursing with understanding, patience and compassion. She was my preceptor and she taught me the correct way of providing nursing care. She helped me get rid of my fears and has been such a blessing to me ever since.
