I experienced my first ever surgery yesterday for a hip resurfacing. Needless to say I was very anxious and likely an additional stressor to those who provided care. From the moment I came to, Sophie Deng never stopped helping me in the most caring, empathetic and positive way. She never stopped helping me and no task was deemed unimportant. Even when her shift was up she stayed with me until I was ready to leave and even wheeled me out the door. She is the model example of what a post op nurse should be. This experience will be told by me to several others considering surgery. She is also representative of my entire HSS experience. From the moment I first contacted HSS earlier this year until yesterday's surgery, HSS has far exceeded my expectations. Why would anyone go anywhere else when they are very best!
