Spenser consistently serves his patients with the utmost care. I have been impressed on a number of occasions with the commitment he has to assuring patients receive what they need, even if it means taking on responsibilities that are not typically carried by a floor or charge nurse. For example, he assisted in securing chemotherapy for a veteran from the inpatient pharmacy by calling and ultimately walking to the pharmacy to make sure the chemotherapy was mixed in time for the veteran to receive it; thus, preventing delays in care. He treats his patients, the house staff and staff physicians with respect and I have been a witness to many patients extolling Spenser's great care.
