I have observed Stacey care for residents at our facility for years. Stacey cares for the residents as if they were her own family. She goes above and beyond to ensure they are loved and cared for. She is creative in finding ways to ensure their dignity and quality of life.

She recently had dresses made for a resident who is bedbound. The resident often stays in a hospital gown, but had mentioned she wanted a red dress. Stacey not only had a red dress made for the resident but several others as well. She assured the dress could be put on easily and tied in the back. The resident proudly showed off her new dress and exclaimed, "I love it!" Stacey also spruced up this resident's room with some new colorful wall hangings, all of which brighten the resident's mood on a daily basis.

Stacey also bought new decor for another resident who spends most of his day in a dark room. Stacey found out what the resident's interests were and accommodated those interests.

Stacey has long been known to provide treats, McDonald's meals, etc., for residents as rewards, incentives, and celebrations. These are often residents that don't have many visitors or family so these treats and meals are so special for the resident.

On a professional level, I know I can count on Stacey to know what is going on with the residents when I round there as the palliative care nurse. Stacey is thorough and follows through on tasks, orders, and communication that are all important for the continuity of care and overall care for the residents. Stacey continually improves the quality of care for the residents in her facility.
