I was hospitalized for six days and had the pleasure of having an outstanding individual, Stacey Chapman, as my day-time nurse. Stacey not only demonstrates the highest quality of care for her patients but also takes time to get to know them. It is one thing to provide care by following doctors’ orders, but to be willing to go above and beyond by not treating someone like a number, I never felt like just another patient getting treatment with Stacey. She was always very polite, professional, helpful and compassionate. Although Stacey was only my nurse for 3 days, I will never forget her. Stacey was the go-to person on the floor, 4 West, with other nurses asking her questions, carrying the floor phone, being a mentor to others, and still made time to always check on her patients, not just doing her rounds but stopping by to make sure they did not need anything. Stacey has the can attitude and shows she is willing to pack it up. She is a real go-getter! If you have a hospital full of nurses like Stacey Chapman, you would have a world-renowned hospital that others would want to copy! I think the DAISY Award was made for Stacey as she checks ALL the marks. Stacey not only demonstrated the I-CARE values but also exceeded them every day. I can not say enough about how much Stacey touched my life and made my stay better than one could ever imagine. Her compassion, caring, and respect for other as their nurse must make them feel as if they are getting the best care possible, I know it did me.
