Stacey knew I was having a rough time. She took the time to sit with me and talk to me, easing my fears and assuring me everything was going to be okay.
After being admitted after surgery, Stacey went above and beyond to make sure I was well taken care of. After a rough day of trying to manage my pain after surgery, causing an emotional breakdown, Stacey knew I was having a rough time. She took the time to sit with me and talk to me, easing my fears and assuring me everything was going to be okay. I really appreciate her taking the time to explain everything to me and just sit with me to make sure I was okay. She offered advice on different things to try in order to get the pain under control and ease my fears. Never once did I feel as if I was a burden. She was sweet and kind to me the whole day. She did a top-notch job during her shift and also let her replacement know what we were trying to make me comfortable. You are a true rock star. Thank you!

This nurse has such a calming presence about her. She is a terrific resource to the staff and preceptor to the new nurses. She takes ownership of any tasks presented to her and doesn't pass them off to anyone else. During COVID, she painted a picture of nurse angel wings and wanted to have it represent the reason the nursing staff began their journey. The portrait is a prominent feature on the unit and a daily reminder of our commitment to our medical field and the patients we care for.
During a recent time of caring for a long term time patient, they formed a relationship on painting since the patient couldn't get out and about, she would paint pictures of scenes to make this patient's stay even better. To this day, this patient asks for her by name each time he comes in at SMC. We are grateful, thankful, and blessed to have Stacey as a part of our nursing team and she lives and exemplifies what it means to be a DAISY Nurse.
