I am the son and caregiver of my 92-year-old father. He suffers from a build-up of fluids in the pleural cavity and has Alzheimer’s. We were told he was a candidate to have a tube placed so he could be drained at home, but we needed to make a family decision. When we decided to have the procedure, Stacey went about and beyond to coordinate contacts with floor doctors, pulmonologists, radiologists, case management, etc., to get things started. Unfortunately, a doctor later decided that he was not a good candidate after all, but she made this so good for both family and patients and showed sincere empathy during the whole process.
