Stacey demonstrated so much compassion. Trust was immediate, stress was reduced and I finally was able to rest. My husband's diagnosis 08 MRSA Pneumonia, Sepsis, and infection in his pleural cavity had me so worried but trying to be brave. Stacy was "on time" with every medication and visit, his pain medication was never late. She showed empathy and took time to talk to us. It was the first night I was able to trust and go home to sleep. As I left, I stopped to thank Stacy and the tears immediately started to flow. She comforted me and assured me she would take care of my husband and I could rest.
Due to other complications later in the week, we went to ICU and were later released back to the 4th floor. Stacy stopped in to say hello and check on us. She told us we were in her thoughts; she asked how we were. She again encouraged me to rest. It was now day 15 of our hospital stay and my husband overcame significant challenges but faced new ones.
Stacy's talent as an RN but loving compassion and care for her patients meant the world to us. I was so tired and afraid but her support, attitude, care, concern, and compassion helped me trust so that I could rest and be my best to help him heal.
She meant the world to me and my husband's healing; at a time when things felt very dark, scary, and stressful. Stacy was "light" in every way.
