Whenever Staci was in charge of caring for my wife, her anxiety levels were greatly reduced.
My wife was a chemotherapy patient doing in-hospital treatment Monday through Friday. Her treatments are very complex, seven and eight different types of treatment bags are given intravenously lasting seven to eight hours a day.
First of all, I want to thank all of the Nurses on 5 West, they were great! But Nurse Staci Mason dearly stood out above the rest. She started my wife’s treatments in the last five out of the six-week-long treatments she was in. Staci worked well with my wife’s doctors to keep things going smoothly. Whenever she was in charge of caring for my wife, her anxiety levels were greatly reduced due to Nurse Mason keeping her on track with her anti-nausea medications and when that wasn't working, she quickly contacted the doctors to get something that might do better for her.
Staci's care and compassion for my wife go well beyond doing her “Job". I heard from one of the other nurses that on Nurse Mason's, day off she had FaceTimed her to make sure that my wife’s treatment was going well and had received her medications timely. Staci has worked very proactively to get my wife’s treatments started early enough to be able to go home Friday evening instead of going home on Saturday due to the treatments starting and finishing up so late in the day, as was the case the first four times in for treatments.
