Stacia is an amazing person and has saved my daughter multiple times. A little background on our journey. My daughter was born in 2017 in San Diego. We already knew she was going to have a heart condition, but all the other diagnoses were after birth. We were thrown into a crazy world of being a parent of a medically fragile child. However, we ended up with a great team of nurses, doctors, etc. This is where we met Stacia first. Over the next weeks, the baby had multiple surgeries. Long story short things changed dramatically. There was a change in staff, nurses, doctors, etc. Things went downhill from there and I became worried seeing that my daughter wasn't improving. She's been in the hospital most, if not all of her life. We asked for a second opinion. CHOC took her case and saved her life.
Fast forward to March 2019 the baby was incredibly ill. It was her first-time inpatient at CHOC in the CVICU. I was scared, anxious, emotional. The entire staff was amazing. They had to work quickly to stabilize her because she wasn't doing well. I met the doctor that evening and he assured me that everything would be ok and I believed him. The very next morning, from the corner of my eye I see the most familiar face ever. Stacia works here! At the CVICU! She's been my daughter's guardian angel since the very day she was born. She had quite literally saved her life back at the other hospital and now she was here. Stacia of course remembers my daughter. I felt a huge weight off me. If Stacia is here I can trust this new place. She even still remembers her baseline and that's difficult because not only was she younger, but she hadn't seen her for 2 years. She was a key tool when explaining medically to the nurses, doctors, etc how complicated and sensitive my daughter is. She's given me hope that my little one will have a better quality of life.
Stacia has a great amount of knowledge, humility, professionalism. She's an amazing nurse but most importantly she really cares. Stacia goes above and beyond to make sure that even if she's not our nurse for the day, she always makes sure that the baby is well cared for. She loves my daughter tremendously and it shows. I owe her more than I would ever be able to pay back. She saved my little's life back then and now. I will always feel I'm indebted to her. You can't forget the people who go above and beyond to make sure that the most precious treasure that my baby is will get the best care. Because of Stacia, I have been able to trust her team of new Drs, nurses, etc.
