She is an exceptional nurse, and she regularly goes above and beyond for her patients and their families. Today was no exception. She was caring for a patient and the family was on their way to the hospital, but they were coming from Ocala. The patient's brother and sister asked for the patient to receive Catholic "last rites" or Sacrament of the Sick. She called the spiritual care representative and was told there wasn't a priest available for the hospital and to reach out to the patient's local Parish. The patient was unable to communicate, and with the family not being local, she used the BayCare values of Dignity, Compassion, and Excellence, and quick thinking to recite the prayers utilizing YouTube. I feel that this effort to comfort her dying patient is just one example of the little things that she does for her patients on a regular basis. She is a true DAISY Nurse for her outstanding care and commitment to her patients and their families.
