I came to labor and delivery at 20 weeks pregnant with known premature rupture of the membranes. I was fairly certain I was experiencing contractions and needed to be checked out. Stacie took over our care for the night shift.

While my contractions were not registering on the monitor, Stacie knew they were happening based on timing, my reactions, and our baby's heartbeat. Stacie took the time to explain what she was looking at. Stacie made it possible for intermittent monitoring to allow us rest between checks. When it was almost time for the epidural to be placed, she allowed my husband to sleep as long as possible before having him leave for the actual procedure.

When we progressed from monitoring to active labor, Stacie walked my husband and me through everything. We knew when our son would be born, we would have precious little time with him. Stacie knew when and how to lighten the mood and when to allow us our time to grieve. She showed immense compassion to two parents giving birth to their first child while also having to say goodbye to that same child.

It is not a situation that anyone should have to go through, but Stacie handled our case with care, and I am glad she was our nurse. Stacie truly made a difference for us.

Thank you, Stacie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
