Stacie is the type of nurse you want caring for your loved one. She never forgets a patient's name or their family's names. Stacie takes the time to really listen to her patients and learn about their stories. Time is not always something nurses have on their side, especially when staffing can be challenging. She personalizes every patient encounter to meet their specific needs. Stacie treats every patient and their family like they are her own family. Often, working with the Teaching Service teams, we treat medically and socially complex patients who are in need of a little extra TLC. Recently, while assisting with a patient's discharge planning, Stacie noticed his overgrown beard. On her own time, Stacie assisted the patient in cleaning up their beard. Stacie never turns down an opportunity to really take care of our patients. It is the little things like listening, sitting with a patient, assisting patients with phone calls, or grooming a patient's beard that really impact how patients experience a hospital stay.
