Nurse Stacey Slagle has, on more than one occasion, taken a Veteran who was in acute crisis with suicidal intent and plan from the escalation phase and passively redirected the Veteran's energies toward calmness. She provided definitive care, care which at times was difficult to arrange while tending to the needs of such an acute crisis. Nurse Slagle has covered the entire Gold Team when other nurses were not available, personally seeing greater than 12 nurse visits, returning telephone calls, and orchestrating care. The physicians appreciate the caring attitude that Stacie exemplifies and acknowledge that she is an asset to the Gold Team.
