Stacy meets me where I'm at emotionally - her demeanor can help calm my nerves, she provides empathy when a treatment doesn't go as expected, and she is always up for a good laugh.
My husband and I have had the good fortune of having Stacy as “our” nurse for the last four years, as I live with a relatively rare, aggressive cancer. We are aware that many in healthcare have incredibly busy jobs and yet, we have always felt that Stacy provides outstanding, personalized attention to my care.
I have observed that cancer can shift a patient's health in many different, complex directions, and it can happen frequently and/or quickly. Over the years, Stacy has taken the time to develop a courteous, solid rapport with me. I feel grateful knowing she retains familiarity with my recent medical history and current status.
She responds to my MyChart questions promptly, which can range from side effects to FMLA paperwork to navigating unanticipated "red tape". I feel reassured with her expertise and knowledge - her clear explanations about medications and procedures have always been spot on.

In fact, Stacy is upbeat and always shares a friendly "hello" when I see her in the clinic hallways (notably helping other patients). Her lighthearted nature means a lot - it helps fuel positivity and hope, two key components of living with cancer.
I particularly admire Stacy's commitment to the team she works with on a daily basis. I have heard only positive comments from Stacy about their team and the bond they have working together. As a result, their partnership is reflected in the seamless care I receive. It means the world to me!
The longevity and consistency with which Stacy Baumeister has provided me with spectacular care and touching compassion is unmistakable validation that she is deserving of the DAISY Award.
What a fabulous nurse you have in Stacy!
