Stacy Bickell, RN

Stacy recently received a patient from the Cath Lab that had three stents placed in blood vessels in her heart. She complained of chest pain post procedure in ATC. Stacy called the cardiologist. He evaluated the patient and stated, "I did a lot of work in there and said that could be her chest pain." The doctor left the building. The patient complained of worsening chest pain and complained of being hot and became very restless. Stacy felt more was wrong and called a rapid response. An EKG was obtained and the patient was having a STEMI. Because of Stacy's skill and insight she was able to get this patient prompt care that saved her life. The patient was intubated and taken back to the Cath Lab. All three stents had become occluded.
