Stacy Cooper, RN
Edgar Allan Poe once stated that, “Never to suffer would never to have been blessed.”
I went to the Martin Army Community Hospital Emergency Room (ER), I received a CT scan, an NG Tube and ultimately admitted to the 6th floor of that hospital. I met Ms. Stacy Cooper (RN) the following day when she came on shift. At this point, I was tired, dehydrated, and realized that she was the blessing that I needed. She was a walking, talking embodiment of the “Army Nursing Team Creed”. I trusted her to “provide compassionate and proficient care,” and in five days of treatment, not once did she ever let me down.
Stacy nurtured me when I was vulnerable and offered “courage and hope” to me when I needed it the most. She supported “my health, safety, and welfare”. She took pride in caring for me and always strove to be attentive and respectful of my needs. When she wasn’t working to make me healthier, she “mentored and fostered the professional growth” of one of her newest Team members. Again, she was the living embodiment of the nurses' creed.
