Estenson was caring for a patient with a traumatic brain injury. The patient's condition concerned the patient and the patient's family, so Estenson sat with the patient to ensure they were comfortable and informed the family about any status changes. Estenson recognized that it was hard for the patient to communicate, so she made cards allowing the patient to point to the things they needed.
