Stacy Frank, BSN, RN

Here in oncology, we utilize IR quite a bit, from port placements to biopsies. Most of the time, we need things done soon/ASAP, within 1 week. Stacy Frank is always willing to squeeze in a patient here or there. She is always on top of getting orders placed that are needed, asking us nurses or providers, calling patients to get them in, or answering any IR-related questions that patients have.

I am a nurse navigator in oncology, and I only navigate patients who come to the Fargo campus. I was asked by a Park Rapids nurse to assist with a patient who needed to see urology, have a port placed, and get a PET scan in Fargo. That patient also had transportation issues. I brought Stacy into the secure chat with the Park Rapids nurses, thinking she would be able to help with the port placement; then I would go from there with the urology appointment and PET scan. Stacy went above and beyond, contacted urology, and coordinated same-day appointments for the port placement. She then contacted Nuc Med to see if the patient could get in for the PET scan before the consult and port placement, and it all worked out to be done on the same day!
