While my hubby was getting his treatment on two occasions, Stacy was present, very calm, and quickly intervened in some emergency situations. The first time his IV had leaked outside the vein (extravastation is what she called it) he told her the IV felt hot and strange, and his arm had swollen. She knew right away what to do!

The second time, Stacy just happened to walk by my husband's station as he passed out due to an allergic reaction to a chemo medication. She noticed right away that there was a problem. She stopped the IV within seconds, and there was a team of nurses and doctors taking care of my husband. I feel her actions prevented several very serious complications! She deserves this award!
