Anyone who connects with Stacy can attest that she pours her heart into everything that she does, not for any glory or accolades but because she deeply cares for the work and the people that her work ultimately serves: the staff and the patients.
Stacy Hull is a clinical practice consultant with NCAL Regional PCS in the Practice Excellence, Clinical Education, and Effectiveness Department under Benson Yeung.  Ever since Stacy joined the regional team, the local sites have felt a great deal of improvement through her communication and due diligence in the work that she does.  I was from a local facility until about 3 months ago and can attest to the amazing work and impact that she has done to ensure staff and patient safety.  When she first came on board there was no forum for ICU and MS/Tele Nursing Professional Development Specialist/CNS to come together to share ideas and to connect with one another.  She created and coordinated this and has helped to bring our facilities closer together. Stacy also has created an amazing ICU fellowship program in which all involved leadership, preceptors, and fellows have commended her organization and communication style to the success of these programs out on the units.  Furthermore, she led the Code Dark Downtime Forms Workgroup, in which majority of the downtime forms had not been updated in 5 or more years. Although this was a team effort, without Stacy at the helm, I do not think that ALL downtime forms for ALL service areas would have been completed in 2 months. Stacy has opened lines of communication that didn't exist before, and she leads with such grace, intellect, passion, compassion, and humility.  She is always open to ideas and other ways of thinking that for those who are in a workgroup with her know that the work they are doing is going to be meaningful and will create an impact not only for the staff but for our patients. Anyone who connects with Stacy can attest that she pours her heart into everything that she does, not for any glory or accolades but because she deeply cares for the work and the people that her work ultimately serves: the staff and the patients.

Stacy Hull is one of the clinical practice and education consultants in Regional Patient Care Services supporting Adult MS/Tele and ICU services across our 21 Medical Centers in Northern California.  Since Stacy joined the regional team a little over a year ago, Stacy's commitment to clinical excellence and dedication to professional nursing practice is deeply felt both locally at the medical centers and amongst her peers at the regional office. In 2022, Stacy developed and led the mobile CCRN examination preparation program during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, when in-person training was not feasible. Under Stacy's guidance and support, an increased number of ICU nurses were able to study and obtain their critical care nursing certification virtually during the pandemic. This amazing work was subsequently published in the International Journal of Critical Care titled "Reinvigorating Critical Care Nurses Post-Pandemic Through a Critical Care Certification Pilot Program."  Furthermore, Stacy redesigned the Cardiac Rhythm Assessment Course for the Nurse Residency Program using innovative case studies and virtual simulation scenarios in a hybrid learning environment. Stacy's work was recognized at the National Vizient Nurse Residency Conference presented in April of this year.  Stacy's commitment to safe patient care and practice excellence extended to the Medical Center where they served.  Stacy's work in the ICU was highlighted in an article on MyKP.org in June of this year titled "Nursing in Cardiovascular ICU - intense but rewarding." One of the KP members also noted, “Stacy and the Cardiovascular Nurse Team at Santa Clara do a heroic job of providing phenomenal care to patients who are at a moment’s notice of being taken away from us all on this planet. I will echo the sentiment in the article, that the ICU is not a place for those who are faint of heart.” Stacy not only exemplifies professional nursing practice excellent but also demonstrated clinical leadership excellent. Stacy is a caring and compassionate colleague as well as a passionate role model for our nurses. Stacy cares for the people she works with and the patients she helps serve deeply.  I highly recommend Stacy for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award.

Stacy Hull started as a CNS for Kaiser Santa Clara. Her work as a CNS showed exceptional leadership as the team built that center of cardiac excellence to a new level. The medical center now prides itself on its joint commission-accredited LVAD program. To achieve this, she provided hours countless hours of behind the scenes support. She personally provided 1:1 nursing education on LVADs, external pacemakers, and bedside care for CVICU and telemetry nurses. She conducted chart audits to ensure compliance. She rounded with nurses and nurse leaders on patients. With her eye for detail, she personally addressed many small issues that would have impeded the LVAD program's success and the overall performance of the CVICU, which, as a department, is pivotal to KPNCAL's Cardiac patient population. As a CPC, she supports the entire region on many initiatives. Examples include the Patient Handoff Pilot, Code Dark, transitioning nurse competency to HeathStream, and many others. She leads by example with her clinical excellence as a CNS, her teamwork with many other roles across the organization, excellent communication with both the local and regional sites, and continued support as an educator for others. She continues to lead the CVICU and ICU training programs at Kaiser Santa Clara in addition to her role at the region. Stacy never hesitates to lead a hand, with no question or request too small for her to quickly provide support. Stacy is a role model for many, including myself.
